A key Long Island Republican leader is endorsing Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro for governor.
Suffolk County GOP Chairman John Lavalle said Molinaro informed him Friday morning that he’s throwing his hat into the race and pledged to back him.
“Marc is going to run. I’m going to support him,” Lavalle told The Post.
Other Republicans who’ve already announced they want to take on Gov. Cuomo include Syracuse state Sen. John DeFrancisco and former state Housing Commissioner Joe Holland.
Molinaro has floated his candidacy for governor before– only to pull out.
But on Wednesday he said he’s thinking about it again.
